Receiver-In-The-Ear (RITE, RIC)
With this style, the receiver (speaker) fits inside the ear canal and is hardly noticeable. Best for mild or moderate hearing loss, most wearers find RITE/RIC hearing aids to be very comfortable.
Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
For moderate to severe hearing loss, most of the technology is located behind the ear. A small, plastic acoustical tube then amplifies sound into an ear bud.
In-The-Ear (ITE)
This custom-made hearing aid fits in the outer portion of the ear and is perfect for those with mild to severe hearing loss.
Invisible-In-The-Canal (IIC)
This is the smallest style hearing aid available. It fits further into the ear canal than other styles and – in many cases – is completely invisible. People with mild to moderate hearing loss life this style because it’s so difficult to notice.
In-The-Canal (ITC)
People with mild to mildly severe hearing loss benefit from the custom-made hearing aid that fits in the canal with a small portion that is visible in the outer ear.
Completely-In-Canal (CIC)
This hearing aid fits complete in the ear canal and only a small handle can be seen. This handle is used to insert and extract the hearing aid. People with mild to moderate hearing loss typically use this style of hearing aid.
