They’re Easy to Maintain
Cleaning ITE hearing aids requires three easy steps:
- Use a brush or pick provided by your audiologist to clear earwax and debris out of the mic ports. Tilt the device downward to ensure the particles fall out.
- Remove the wax guard and insert a new one.
- Wipe down the device with a clean cloth or tissue to remove earwax and moisture buildup.
Eliminate Mask Troubles
The COVID-19 pandemic has ensured mask-wearing is here to stay for the immediate future, which may prove problematic for behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid wearers. One of the biggest problems hearing aid users face is getting their devices tangled with mask straps.
Taking your mask on and off can loosen or dislodge BTE hearing aid receivers. That increases your risk of losing one or both hearing devices, which means you’ll have to spend more money to replace them.
