I understand that hearing aids are a significant investment, which is why I was disappointed by my experience with this practice.
In April 2021, I purchased my first pair of hearing aids (Widex Moment 110 RIC) from audiologist Marta Gielarowiec for $3,650. At the time, I was told these were among the best hearing aids available. As a first-time hearing aid user, I trusted that recommendation.
Unfortunately, I continued to struggle with hearing in environments with background noise, such as restaurants, parties, and other social settings. Conversations often became difficult to follow, and I frequently had to ask people to repeat themselves, which was frustrating and embarrassing.
About a year after my purchase, Dr. Gielarowiec began encouraging me to replace my hearing aids, explaining that hearing aid technology advances rapidly. While I understand that newer technology becomes available, purchasing another set so soon after spending thousands of dollars was simply not feasible for me.
What concerned me most was that the pressure to "upgrade" continued during subsequent visits. I felt that the focus had shifted from helping me get the most out of my current hearing aids to encouraging another sale.
My concerns were reinforced when my husband sought to have his hearing aids repaired. We were told they were more than five years old and could not be repaired. However, another audiologist successfully repaired them and informed us that many patients continue to use and service hearing aids that are well over five years old.
Based on my experience, I did not feel that my long-term hearing needs were the priority. If you value an audiologist who focuses on maximizing the performance and lifespan of your existing hearing aids before recommending costly replacements, you may wish to explore other options.

Both my wife and I were highly impressed by our meting with Marta Gialarowlec, AU.D Doctor of Audiology. Dr. G took her time to explain what she was thinking based how I told her my interview answers. She also asked, where appropriate, follow up questions to understand why I would answer her questions the way I did. She wanted to know what types of sounds I heard, and their relative importance to me. Dr. G spent the time needed for her to investigate how I would use a pair of hearing aids. All of her attention was focused on enabling her to start the process to provide the best possible recommendation for what type, sound management, and what physical form the hearing aids would help me the most. I was pleased Dr. G would get into the ‘nitty gritty’ of what hearing aids would actually do to help me and my loved ones.
Before I retired, I managed a consulting practice for a major technology organization for a Fortune 500 corporation. i understand the difference between a superficial and a more intense interview. Dr. G explained several times that she wanted to understand what aspects of my hearing I would want to improve the most, and setting my expectations of what I could expect.
I was also impressed with how Dr. G included my wife in our discussions, seeking her input where appropriate. We would become a team working together to achieve a 360 degree understanding of my hearing.
I am very comfortable with Dr. G’s approach, and could feel the depth of her knowledge and practical experience in this subject area.
I am looking forward to continuing the process that will allow Dr. G to affirm the type of hearing aid that will serve me and my loved ones the best. I was pleased to see that her approach was more than checking off boxes on a spreadsheet, but really delved into what I do during the course of a day and the relative importance of the many different types of activities and the voices and sounds I hear.
I have had an earlier experience with a major hearing aid provider regarding the fit and use of hearing aids. After purchasing the hearing aid equipment if felt abandoned. That experience left me disappointed where I questioned the entire idea of using a hearing aid.
My experience with Dr. G is 180 degrees opposite from my earlier experience. Dr. G is a hearing aid service provider with emphasis on the service, teaching me how to use a hearing aid, not just hyping reasons to purchase the most expensive hearing aid.
I am excited and looking forward to engaging in the process to effectively learn to use a hearing aid device under Dr.G’s guidance.
Whoever is reading this, and feels you may need a hearing aid, please, do yourself a favor. Do not just consider visiting Dr. G, but actually do it. There are many audiologists that provide different levels of service and support from minimal (almost none) to adequate, and are willing to oversell the hearing aid you may actually need. I hope my review has helped you.
As always, our audiologist was prompt, efficient, help clean my hearing aids, retested me, and assured me things are good and we are on the right path. She makes it so easy! And this has NOT been the case for me with previous audiologists. Thank you!

Wonderful n professional audio test
Name is incorrect. It is Michael Levy. Marta was able to accomplish multiple tasks- preparing replacement hearing aids, doing a hearing test, and cleaning ear canal in one visit saving me a lot of time.
It was very accommodating and the staff was beyond professional and extremely helpful
My hearing aid malfunctioned while traveling in NYC and I went to them for help. They were immensely helpful and incredibly kind and efficient in helping me with the repair of my current aids and helping me to possibly get new ones. They were especially patient as English is not my first language and worked with me to make everything clear, and understandable. I highly recommend this place!!

I had my annual hearing test with my Doctor of Audiology Marta Gielarowiec, and it was well organized and very efficiently preformed. Dr. Gielarowiec is thorough as well as efficient and friendly. I was concerned about tinnitus and she realized immediately that I still have an ear infection that I thought I was rid of. She gave me three recommendations for an ENT. The office staff is also really nice. The office is clean and quiet and there is a helpful video display with hearing facts that you can watch while you are waiting for your appointment.

I was seen promptly when I appeared for my appointment, and the doctor was attentive and responsive to the issues I raised. She addressed the issues i brought up and adjusted the hearing aids promptly. As a result, my hearing aids fit better and the sound is sharper and clearer.

I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of my visit with Dr. Marta at Audio Health. Convenient, responsive, thorough, and knowledgeable. She takes however long is needed to ensure I understand and have all questions answered and offered follow up visits with any questions or issues.

We arrived in NYC from NC to spend 6 days celebrating Thanksgiving with our daughter’s family here in NYC. We are staying at a local hotel near Columbus Circle. I realized that my left hearing aid wasn’t working as we were on the way to our hotel. I called the hotel concierge about an audiologist who could help fix my hearing aid. He called Audio Help Hearing Center at the Columbus Circle location and they said to come right in which I did! The 2 young women at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. They looked at my hearing aid and determined the problem and almost instantly repaired it so I could hear again! I highly suggest this business to anyone needing an audiologist and hearing aids! Thank you to these 2 wonderful young women!

Marta is an excellent audiologist and very lovely person. However i was unaware that the appointment was simply to check my hearing aid and my ears rather than my hearing. I don't think this is useful.

First time coming to this center that I found through Zocdoc.
Unfortunately, my appointment didn't go through (blaming Zocdoc for technical error), but they were so friendly and helpful in rescheduling my appointment. Also, Dr. Marta's been wonderful! She was very empathetic regarding my situation, gave me a comprehensive exam, and explained everything!

The visit was for my annual hearing test. Dr. Marta discovered that my right hearing aid was effective and promptly sent it for replacement. She was very helpful and thorough as usual.
The staff is polite and courteous. But now I am having issue with my aide they didn’t order the same one oction I always use for 47 years and now they put me with starkey aide and it is not right for me it effect my work life and personal life. Now it about money at the end.
Today I returned 10/22/24 received my replacement one and also kind of the same issue I don’t know what to do
